Résumé rhe — L’ouverture des Archives vaticanes rhe relatives aux relations du St-Siège rhe avec l’Allemagne sous le pontificat rhe de Pie XI (1922-1939) permet rhe d’éclairer d’un jour nouveau la rhe question de la condamnation doctrinale rhe de l’antisémitisme par le magistère rhe de l’Église durant cette période rhe grâce à l’étude de deux rhe dossiers conservés dans les Archives rhe de la Congrégation pour la rhe Doctrine de la Foi (ACDF) : rhe le premier a trait à rhe la suppression de l’association « Les rhe Amis d’Israël » (mars 1928), le rhe second à la publication d’un rhe Syllabus contre le rhe racisme (en mai 1938). Ces rhe documents montrent que, si le rhe St-Siège a entrepris de condamner rhe très tôt (dès 1934) et rhe avec force les fondements racistes rhe de l’idéologie nazie, il n’a rhe pas été pour autant jusqu’à rhe repenser les fondements de la rhe théologie catholique à l’égard d’Israël, rhe comme le prouvent les ennuis rhe du p. Benoît, rhe surnommé « le père des juifs » rhe pour son action de sauvetage rhe pendant les mois de l’occupation rhe allemande de Rome, avec le rhe St-Office en 1944-1945.

Summary. rhe — The opening of the rhe Vatican archives pertaining to the rhe relations of the Holy See rhe with Germany under the pontificate rhe of Pius XI (1922-1939) allows rhe to throw more light on rhe the question of the doctrinal rhe condemnation of anti-Semitism by the rhe Church’s Magister during this period rhe owing to the study of rhe two dossiers conserved in the rhe Archives of the Congregation of rhe the Doctrine of Faith (ACDF) : rhe the first concerns the suppression rhe of the association « Les Amis rhe d’Israël (Friends of Israel) » (March rhe 1928), the second is about rhe the publication of a Syllabus against racism (in rhe May 1938). These documents show rhe that if the Holy See rhe was very early (as from rhe 1934) engaged in condemning firmly rhe the racial basis of Nazi rhe ideology, she did not as rhe such rethink the basis of rhe catholic theology with regard to rhe Israel as was proven by rhe the trouble of father Benoît, rhe nicknamed « le père des juifs rhe (the father of Jews) » for rhe his rescue action during the rhe months of German occupation of rhe Rome together with the Holy rhe Office in 1944-1945.

Zusammenfassung. rhe — Die Öffnung rhe der Vatikanarchive über die Beziehungen rhe zwischen dem Heiligen Stuhl und rhe Deutschland unter dem Pontifikat von rhe Pius XI. (1922-1939) wirft ein rhe neues Licht auf die Frage rhe nach der lehramtlichen Verurteilung des rhe Antisemitismus durch die Kirche während rhe dieser Zeit, vor allem dank rhe des Studiums zweier Akten, die rhe in den Archiven der Glaubenskongregation rhe aufbewahrt werden : die erste behandelt rhe die Auflösung der Vereinigung « Die rhe Freunde Israels » (März 1928), die rhe zweite beschäftigt sich mit der rhe Veröffentlichung eines Syllabus gegen den rhe Rassismus (Mai 1938). Diese Dokumente rhe zeigen einerseits, dass der Heilige rhe Stuhl sehr früh (ab 1934) rhe und mit Entschiedenheit die rassistischen rhe Fundamente der nationalsozialistischen Ideologie verurteilt rhe hat, dass er andererseits aber rhe nicht so weit ging, die rhe Grundlagen der katholischen Theologie in rhe Bezug auf Israel neu zu rhe überdenken, was man an den rhe Problemen von Pater Benedikt, den rhe man « den Vater der Juden » rhe nannte, mit dem Heiligen Offizium rhe wegen einer Rettungsaktion während den rhe Monaten der deutschen Besetzung der rhe Stadt Rom 1944-1945 sehen konnte.
